Seoul Robotics
Korean Startup Seoul Robotics is an A.I./self driving car technology company. They are looking to make robots intelligent yet harmless. It is great to see Korean Startups getting into A.I. and autonomous driving technology because self-driving cars are the future. They are coming and there is nothing we can do about that.
However, there are many fears in regards to self-driving cars. People want to know that they are safe when inside an autonomous vehicle. In a way, the car needs a brain. Currently, most cars are just equipped with cameras and some kind of radar. To be truly autonomous, cars need to have deep-learning based self-driving car software. As well as a LIDAR centered hybrid sensing system. LIDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging, which is a remote sensing method that uses light in the form of a pulsed laser to measure ranges.
When you combine LIDAR and Deep Learning you will get cars with “3D Eyes”. They will even be able to detect in low light environments.
Also, ground detection.
They will also be able to detect any object 360 degrees around them.
The LIDAR market is expected to grow from a $300 million in 2016 to $3.3 billion by 2021. This is because self-driving cars are coming faster than many expected.
Seoul Robotics is looking to get into this market with their Deep Learning based LIDAR Object Detection Software, Multiple Sensor Fusion Object Detection Software, and Autonomous Emergency Warning System. Add all three and you truly have a car that can “see” in 3D.
