“Airbnb is committed to helping Korean society positively.” Through this opportunity, young people outside Seoul will actively participate in Root Impact’s educational programs. Also, we are eager to join various impact programs run by Root Impact.” said Mike Orgill, Director of Public Policy APAC from Airbnb.

Supporting Changemakers

Root Impact is a for-purpose organization.  It was founded in 2012 with the belief that everyone is of good will and have the potential to improve the world.  Therefore, the organization aims to support Changemakers who are creating innovative solutions to tackle social issues. In order to help young social entrepreneurs and Changemakers, Root Impact has been building an ‘Impact Ecosystem.’  They provide a Changemaker-friendly environment. This includes:

  • co-living houses D-Well
  • co-working space HEYGROUND
  • Learning opportunities

In addition because of the partnership with Airbnb, potential young Changemakers from outside of Seoul will be able to be a part of ‘Impact Basecamp’ and/or ‘Impact Career. Therefore all they would have to do now is to apply for these programs when they open.  Finally, anyone in Korea no matter where they live can have a chance to become Changemakers!
