Korean startup FXGear is not just an AR/VR technology company.  They also specialize in multinational computer graphics and AR/VR hardware/software production.  They are considered by many in the industry to be the best AR/VR startup in Korea.

Virtual Reality Hardware

FXGear created their very own VR headset NOON VR PROwhich won the CES 2018 Innovation Award in Augmented and Virtual Reality.  It can be connected to any smartphone that are 4.7 inches to 5.5 inches.  It is very affordable with a retail price of around $90.  The Noon VR app where they will tell you how to use the headset properly.  There is an “my storage” page where you can look at the videos on your smartphone in VR.  You can also see the top recommended videos from other NOON VR users.  Therefore NOON VR has a global community of VR enthusiasts and a platform for content distribution for video content developers.

VR Content Production

FXGear also provides a one-stop solution for VR content production as well as consulting services.   They work with the latest VR camera technology which they have developed through in-house testing.  FXGear has also worked with the animation and movie industry’s very best.  Some of their partners include Walt Disney, Blizzard Entertainment, and SEGA just to name a few.  They also have an advanced streaming server that allows VR experiences of up to 11K resolution to be streamed directly to a mobile device.

FXMIRROR & FIT’N SHOP

FXGear is front and center in the augmented retail space.  They are focusing on virtual fitting and advertising technologies solutions.  With their VFX cloth simulation technology, they have created FXMIRROR which is an augmented reality fitting solution for offline locations.  With FXMIRROR customers can get an instant fitting without getting in and out of clothes.

How does FXMirror work?

The FXMirror uses state of the art body scanners to scan your body.  Therefore, it is able to scan a customers body in real-time so you can superimpose the clothing images to your body.  The clothing even bends and conforms to the shape of the customer’s body even if they are moving around.  They can send use the on-screen interface to get access to the clothing’s details.  The mirror will even give out recommendations based on the purchases the shopper has made in the past.

Also, retailers can gather more data from their customers to offer better customer service. The data collected includes a customers preferences such as their age, gender, time, duration of usage, clothing selected, purchases made, and what kind of payment was used.

 

Introducing FITN’SHOP

FIT’N SHOP allows for customers to create a virtual avatar profile where customers can try on different outfits to see which one looks best on them.  There are over 70 different types of clothing, you can even try on Korean traditional dresses.  Now customers can try on a large number of clothes in a short period of time.  FXGear even offers a smaller mirror for kids called FXMirror Kids.

 

So far FXMirror has been their biggest hit.  The FXMirror was showcased at the Incheon International Airport, a department store in Nanjing, China, and many department stores in Korea.  In addition, FXGear is generating a lot of buzz as a high-quality AR technology company.  They are Korea’s leading AR/VR company in the IT/Fashion tech space.
