Korean Startup Fleapop

Have you ever heard of the Z generation? Babies who were born after 1995 are called the Z generation. These Z generation babies are already in their 20’s. Now there is a market targeted just for the Z generation. Korean startup FLEAPOP is a marketplace that targets the preference of the 20’s and communicates with them.

Korean startup FLEAPOP distinctively analyzes the characteristics of the Z generation and uses it to fulfill their needs. The Z generation has their own characteristics. Therefore, they regard pricing more importantly than brand authority. Furthermore, rather than the brand authority, they prefer to have qualified products and prioritize function first.

Also, even though they have been exposed to digital machines and online applications, they not only like online shopping but also enjoy offline shopping. They still like looking at the products and feeling them for themselves. In addition, it also is regarded as a time to share some precious memories with friends. They share it through their Social Media. What they want is not only to buy things. They want something they can fully enjoy.

What Korean startup FLEAPOP is doing is to support them by opening a market. FLEAPOP is opening market festivals for the Z generation at places where they usually gather. These places include Myungdong, Hongdae etc. These are some of the best places for market festivals. They have already done their 35th market festival.

The most recent one was held at DDP in Seoul on June 2nd to 3rd. More than 50 thousand people visited to participate and 40 teams had run their booths. Designer brands, famous internet shopping malls, accessories sellers and startup companies participated and sold their own unique item. Z generation people went store by store to see what items were exhibited and enjoyed buying them. Creating such opportunities is what FLEAPOP does. They let people in their 20s enjoy such fun experiences.
