Tech Revolution in Genetic Engineering: ProxEnrem at Startup Festival 2017

Enzyme Mass Production

Enzymes are cheaper and environment-friendly that existing chemical synthesis. So why haven’t enzyme been utilized for a long time? It is because mass production hasn’t been possible in the case of enzymes. Now, with the progress of genetic engineering, in some industries, producing enzymes became possible.  But still, only 9% of enzymes are replacing chemical synthesis products. Even more, it was found that only 5% of the industry is utilizing enzyme even though there are more in the industry. Therefore, Korean Startup ProxEnrem has developed a new technique.

The Solution

ProxEnrem created a new manifestation system in which they can mass produce protein enzymes using genetically engineered fungus. It has its own patent regarding genetic engineering that the core technology has a high efficiency which makes mass production possible. About 600 production systems use this protein enzyme manifestation system which is all subject to patent.

Therefore, ProxEnrem is now adopting this technique to different fields. It can be used in animal feed enzyme complex products, dental bleaching enzyme complex products, even environmental cleanup enzyme complex products etc. The global market size is big enough already but in Korea, because of the insufficient amount of enzyme usage in the industry market is not big enough yet.

A New Technical Revolution

ProxEnrem is, therefore, trying to take over the market with its own unique technique.  They have a low unit cost of production and high efficiency.  Therefore they can create and sell different enzyme products. It is trying to open up a new market with technical revolution. For now, it has 4 different products and they each have their own competitive edge: easy to do genetic engineering, low production cost, no side effects, safe manifestation process etc. Look forward to a safe& environment-friendly market with ProxEnrem. In the near future, we can have cheaper and safer enzyme products all around us.
