The mainnet is now live and in the voting stage, the question that a lot of EOS holders are asking is…how do we vote for EOS Block Producers?
This is by far the most frequently asked question these days by EOS holders, and the purpose for this post is to help you find the most secure and easy way to vote (we at EOS Asia have researched them all). Furthermore, only with your help can we maintain a fair and democratic chain that is going to make EOSIO for example to any Blockchain project that’s going to be available in the future while taking part to one of the most ambitious projects ever seen!
Vote to activate the chain, vote to have a chain that is going to be maintained by the best Block Producers in the world and vote to be part of history that’s created by YOU!
The EOS Asia Voting Portal is the easiest, most secure, and fastest way to vote on the EOS Blockchain.
DISCLAIMER:
vote.eosasia.one uses Scatter. Scatter is a way to sign EOS transactions and provide private data without exposing keys and unnecessary information while interacting with web applications. Therefore, Scatter is one of the most secure and easiest-to-use wallets in the EOS ecosystem. In addition, EOS Asia’s voting tool will never ask for private keys. Therefore, if you encounter a fake portal, please report it to us.
Visit get-scatter.com or scatter-eos.com and download the Scatter plugin for Chrome
Verify Scatter using the developer option of Chrome. (Make sure you have the official version of Scatter before using it)
Click on the Scatter icon in the plugins section of Chrome. Insert a password that’s going to be used to access your account and select “Create New Scatter”.
Immediately after this step, write down the mnemonic phrases and store them in a safe place.
In the menu “Key Pairs”, enter your EOS Private and Public Keys. Furthermore, give your keys a name so you’ll know which one it is.
(Remember, if you do not feel comfortable to use Scatter you don’t need to vote this way. Scatter is currently one of the tools we suggest since we’ve verified it and since we know the founder.)
This step is going to import the Mainnet network to your Scatter and attach your Identity to the Voting Portal.
Now we’re finally at the most exciting part, voting!

]]>EOS Asia is looking to bridge the technical gap but also are about bridging the cultural gap. This is going to be very important for the EOS ecosystem moving forward. For example, we were asked multiple times in the community about why the EOS voting system uses the approval voting of 30 candidates and not 1 vote per token. Being in Asia for a while I could see how universal suffrage is not a very commonly understood idea in some of the Asian communities. Therefore you can actually imagine how foreign the idea of approval voting of 30 candidates. These are the some of the cultural gaps be want to bridge in the EOS community.
What are the pros and cons of approval voting versus 1 vote per token? The EOS community needs to understand the fully before they vote. Things such as why bribing is bad and how it affects the ecosystem as a whole. We will educate them with detailed cases as well as our own opinions.
We need to educate token holders that when they vote, they are choosing the Block Producers to run the EOS platform. They are the investors of the EOS platform and not any the investors of any particular Block Producer. They can’t always just go for the big name but rather how much these BPs will spend improving the community. If they chose a node that wouldn’t be able to perform the necessary technical operations, the service will fail and thus people will lose confidence in the system. The community as a whole will get hurt and the investment will not be successful.

]]>It’s important to me that an organization like EOS Go exists and thrive. This is because this is where all the beginners will come to find each other and learn more about EOS. I think every BP should find a way to contribute to EOS GO in the future as well.
I actually want to list some other candidates besides ourselves that I found is really helpful to the EOS BP community.
EOS Sweden is doing great work educating and organizing most of the BP community. While at the same time leading to it’s technical knowledge in the area. They bring together all kinds of people wanting to join the EOS community, have great discussions about blockchain, and developing new dApps.
EOS 42 London have similar values to ours. They focus deeply on the technical importance that running as BP brings but at the same time they want to offer more options to the token holders through dApp development. They aim to protect the EOS network through high performance, reliable network support, investing to enable it to scale, protecting precious EOS token resources and value, and empowering the community to create a healthy and sustainable ecosystem. Furthermore, they have pledged a proportion of profits to blockchain education charitable causes.
EOS Canada is another great candidate that’s trying it’s best to make the BIOS process as seamless as possible. They have been active in running and testing the community testnet. As well as in the creation of the BIOS Boot sequence. In addition, they have also been building various community tools to help the EOS ecosystem grow. They want to become the hub for companies, entrepreneurs, and dApp developers for the EOS.IO network.
EOS NY not only educates token holders but also giving a good point of view to BPs on how the network should be run. They are co-founded by two blockchain enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and strong believers of the vision EOS seeks to make into a reality.
