PowerPT is hosting an event on “How to join a global accelerator” at WeWork Samseong on Oct. 25, 2018.
The main focus of this event is to help Korean startups who are looking to go global. Jonathan Moore, executive director at PowerPT and speaker of the night explained that “Many accelerators have strong networks and great educational programs to help startups find success in new markets. However, top accelerators like Y Combinator and Techstars, have an acceptance rate of just 1-2%. Compared to Harvard’s acceptance rate of 5%, these programs are extremely selective. So my goal is to help increase the odds for startups in Korea.”
Jonathan’s first startup raised $6M USD and expanded to five countries with millions of users. Since then, he’s supported other startups with global marketing strategy and VC pitch coaching. As Director of Launchpad, he helped early stage Korean startups join global accelerators in Asia, Europe, and the US. In his presentation, Jonathan will share insights about accelerator programs and their benefits as well as tips on getting accepted into global accelerators.
Additionally, there will be a panel discussion with an accelerator mentor and the Korean startup Roborus. The startup not only participated in BetaPitch Seoul 2018, but also got accepted into Techstars. By sharing their previous experiences the startup wants to help entrepreneurs with their global expansion.
