Indian Startup iNICU: Complete Child Healthcare Solution

1 in 10 babies is born prematurely.  Around 1 million children die each year due to preterm births.  India has the highest preterm birth deaths in the world.  Indian Startup iNICU Medical Private Limited which was founded in 2016 looks to provide a complete child healthcare solution from infancy to adolescence.

iNICUThe Problem

In order to make this happen, iNICU is using IoT and Big Data to make a personalized and digitized child health monitoring system.  This will help predict certain diseases at the early stage in order to combat it early.  When a preterm birth occurs, doctors and nurses need to monitor the child at the hospital and constantly provide progress reports.  Most of the calculations regarding nutrition and drug dosage are based on data collected manually on an hourly basis.  These manual calculations are subject to human error.

The Solution

iNICU looks to do away with manual calculations and automatize the workflow.  This will reduce human error as well as reduce the responsibilities of the doctors and nurses.  The data collected can be stored in the cloud so it can be accessed by the doctor or administration at any time.  This will also reduce paperwork.  Also, the exact doses for the child will be very accurate without the fear of human error.  Notifications for feeds, medication, and screenings are sent to doctors and nurses automatically.

The mission for iNICU is to save as many lives of children as possible.  The data collected from their digitized system, more research can be done to prevent diseases from happening at the early stages.
