Malaysian Startup: WORQ Coworking Space

Malaysian Startup WORQ

The Malaysian Startup community is growing fast.  Therefore the need for more coworking spaces is high.  Malaysian Startup WORQ is a digital hub that is looking to become the WeWork of Malaysia.  They are set to change the way people work and live by giving startups and small businesses real end-to-end solutions.

The problem with the real estate market for startups in Malaysia is that the leases are not flexible and usually require a long-term commitment.  Also, there is very little community support and a lot of time is wasted on office management.

WORQ’s Solutions

The workspaces for the startups are cool and innovative.  Since startups share their resources, employees expenditures are reduced.  At WORQ there is an ecosystem of potential partners from lawyers to designers.  It is also a great place to get the latest news regarding government subsidies and private sector grants.

The Malaysian Office Market

There are over 800,000 SMEs, startups, and mid-sized corporates in Malaysia.  They are all looking for the right office.  This explains why the Malaysian office market is running at an 82% occupancy.  Coworking spaces, in general, are limit.  WORQ will be the first large-scale coworking space in Malaysia targeting startups.  There are other coworking spaces but they mainly focus on larger companies that can afford their higher entry costs.

WORQ is About Building a Community

WORQ is not just about providing a working culture but also building a vibrant community.  Having a large network of fellow entrepreneurs is an asset that can’t be bought.  It is a very big advantage for any startup to have a community that has connections to all parts of the business and startup ecosystem.  An ecosystem that engages members to share their business advice, generate leads for others and provide support.

WORQ has formed strategic partnerships with the Malaysian government (MDEC and MaGIC), the investment community (500 Startups and Cradle Fund), Startup organizations, and many more.  Therefore, Malaysian startups need to check out WORQ and see for themselves.  Let’s support Asia’s Startup Ecosystem!
