Korean Startup Try Catch Media’s TRY CODING

Korean companies are always on the lookout for programmers and coders.  However, the problem is that learning to code is not easy, boring, and there are not enough teachers to learn from.  Korean startup Try Catch Media has created TRY CODING an online game that teaches you how to code.

Learn Code through Gaming

Learning to code through games is perfect for the Korean/Asian market.  Asians in general love to play games.  You can see this if you go to any computer rooms in Korea, Japan, China, etc.  Adding gamification to learn how to code as well as having a community that has different levels of coders is a great idea.  This can be a platform where coders can share their knowledge and networks.

How does TRY CODING work?

It is simple.  Users log in and play games and learn from guided tutorials.  When you play the many games on the platform, every action you take has to be written in precise computer code.  For example, if you want your character to move you have to write the code.  Therefore you will learn and use real programming languages like JavaScript, and lead your way to victory.

Earth Invaded

A game we would recommend is Earth Invaded where Aliens have left their world and has invaded earth.  Humans will need to defeat the aliens using their code and logic.  You can unlock achievements and badges.  As you level up, you will be able to share your skills online.  Once you are at a certain coding level you will be able to design your own levels with the level editor.  You can then post your levels online so your friends can give it a try.

The Future of Coding

By 2018 and 2019, learning code will be mandatory in Korea, China, and Japan.  That is over 180 million potential customers.  So those that are looking to learn how to code and want to learn in a fun and innovative way.  Go visit their site today.
